The New York Giants' disappointing season reached a new low as they lost to the terribly inconsistent Chicago Bears by a mere five points. To make matters worse, Jabrill Peppers was taken out of the game due to a hip injury.

It would have been easy for Giants fans to panic and dismiss Peppers as out for the season. After all, the team is considering to have him go through MRI for a clear diagnosis of the damage.

However, the man himself hopes that he will be able to play for the Giants' next game. He boasts about his physical and mental toughness, claiming that he can definitely play through almost anything.

“I’m tough. I’m hoping it’s something I can tough through,” Peppers said, as reported by Pro Football Talk's Charean Williams.

Peppers has been a solid contributor for the Giants so far this season. He's made 76 tackles, forced three fumbles, made one pick, and deflected five passes. He's one of the few great spots in a Giants defense that Dave Gettelman promised would be better during the offseason.

Moreover, he's just as passionate as any Giants fan who continue to flock the MetLife Stadium in spite of their poor performances. He doesn't hide his disappointment whenever they lose games, saying he feels the fans' pains.

This was his message to furious Giants fans after they lost to the neighboring Jets, per NJ.com:

“I mean, we’re fed up, too. At the end of the day, everybody can feel how they feel.”

However, there's only so much he can do on his own. The entire defense needs to step up and help him contain opponents. It's been a disappointing rebuild for the Giants, but they can still turn it around if they perform better in the remaining games they have this season.
