The New York Giants are preparing for their season opener on Sunday against the Denver Broncos and have faced some questions as Saquon Barkley tries and get ready to play. But, the Giants might have gotten some terrific news on Thursday.

According to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, Giants offensive coordinator gave a positive update on Barkley.

“A lot of confidence in him as a player…I think he’s done a great job to get himself back healthy and 100 percent.”

So, per Jason Garrett, Barkley is 100 percent, which means he should be ready to roll for Sunday's game. However, that could just be a miscalculation from Garrett, although all signs have pointed to Barkley being ready to go.

The Giants could limit his workload, which would make sense, but it is definitely encouraging that he participated in practice. Barkley, when healthy, is one of the best running backs in the NFL, and the Giants are sure excited to get him back after he played in only two games during the 2020 campaign.

Prior to that, he had 1000 yards in each of the first two seasons, with an impressive rookie line of 1307 yards and 11 scores on the ground with four more and 721 yards in the receiving game. Hopefully Barkley is 100 percent.
