Players on the PGA Tour have battled back and forth at the BMW Championship at Olympia Fields Country Club just outside of Chicago.

The course has played tough all week, and the top two players in the world went head-to-head in a thrilling showdown.

Jon Rahm blazed through the course with a round of -6 to take the lead in the clubhouse. The Spaniard's sensational round forced some heroics from World No. 1 Dustin Johnson on the 72nd hole of the tournament.

Johnson came to the par-4 18th hole needing a birdie, but his tee shot found the rough. Johnson was forced to play his second to the middle of the green, needing to make a long and winding birdie putt to force a playoff with Rahm.

Undeterred, Johnson stepped up and buried the putt in the center of the cup.

Johnson's stunning putt forced a sudden-death playoff in the BMW Championship, one with major ramifications for the upcoming FedEx Cup.

But there was another twist in store, this time from the No. 2 player.

Rahm found the rough with his tee shot on the playoff hole, and he had a 66-foot putt for birdie. He responded to Johnson's earlier putt by burying a bomb of his own, one that eventually won him the tournament.

A truly spectacular finish at Olympia Fields in one of the best tournaments of the Tour season. The BMW Championship may be over, but it will certainly be remembered for a long time.
