The Masters is back on Thursday as the world's top golfers will look to take home the coveted green jacket from Augusta National Golf Club. The main draw from the event will be Tiger Woods, who is making his return to The PGA Tour after a lengthy absence following injuries sustained in a serious car accident. The Masters revealed tee times and pairings for Thursday, and Tiger Woods has been placed in Group 14.
Tiger Woods Masters tee time, group
Woods and the rest of Group 14 are set to tee off at 10:34 a.m. EST. Tiger has been paired up with South African native Louis Oosthuizen and Joaquin Niemann, who hails from Chile.
It's an interesting grouping for Woods. Neither Niemann nor Oosthuizen has ever won at Augusta, but both are enjoying solid campaigns on the PGA Tour. Niemann earned himself a win back in February at the Genesis Invitational, the second of his career. The 23-year-old earned his first win back in 2020 at The Old White Golf Course. Niemann placed 40th at the 2021 Masters, his best-ever finish at Augusta. He currently ranks as the world's No. 8 golfer and is one of the brightest young talents on the PGA Tour.
As for Oosthuizen, he's far below Niemann in the world rankings, coming in at No. 127. Still, he's had better results than the Chilean at the Masters, placing 23rd last year and 29th in 2019.
Woods is the most experienced of the group, and the only winner of the event in Group 14. Tiger boasts 5 green jackets in his wardrobe and will be looking to add another in spectacular fashion at this year's Masters. Fans will be eager to see him take to the course, and now they know exactly when to catch his debut shot.
