Na began his announcement by emphasizing how much he enjoyed the Tour and the opportunities he gained through it. However, due to “recent developments in the professional golf world” and the rules of the Tour, he is moving on. Na explained that if he continued his career with the organization, he would not have the freedom to play when and where he wants.

If I exercise my right to choose where and when I play golf, then I cannot remain a PGA Tour player without facing disciplinary proceedings and legal action from the PGA Tour. I am sad to share that I have chosen to resign from the PGA Tour.”
Na added that he “hopes the current policies change” so that he can play on the PGA Tour again.
The 38-year-old revealed that he will be joining LIV Golf, and will compete in the three-day inaugural LIV Invitational series beginning June 9. Na joins many other professional golfers who are removing themselves from their respective organizations to join LIV. Rumor has it that Phil Mickelson could also be leaving the Tour for the Saudi League.
