The Super Golf League might be a super flop after all, and PGA TOUR superstar Rory McIlroy has just dealt the Saudi-backed enterprise a massive blow.

After Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau joined other stars in rejecting the idea of leaving the PGA TOUR, McIlroy jumped from the top rope and landed straight into the seemingly fading dream of the Super League luring stars into its fold.

Via Ben Morse of CNN:

“Who's left? Who's left to go? I mean, there's no one. It's dead in the water in my opinion. I just can't see any reason why anyone would go,” the 32-year-old said after his final round at the Genesis Invitational on Sunday.

“No one really knew where Bryson stood. I was really glad to see DJ and Bryson put out those statements this week. We all want to play against the best players in the world and they're certainly two of the best players in the world.”

For a rival entity to succeed in leapfrogging the PGA TOUR, it's going to need stars. However, that's just not what is happening right now, with McIlroy, Johnson, DeChambeau, Collin Morikawa, Jon Rahm, Tiger Woods, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth all expressing zero interest in parting ways with the PGA TOUR to be part of another tour.

Well, there's still Phil Mickelson, but he might be singing a different tune soon after he got ripped by McIlroy.
