Desmond Bane turned into one of the most lethal shooters in the NBA for the Memphis Grizzlies this season. The second-year wing's scorching hot shooting is one huge reason they have home court advantage over the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semi-Finals.

The Grizzlies star ranked second in the entire NBA in three-point shooting percentage at 43.6% behind Luke Kennard of the Los Angeles Clippers. Desmond Bane has been even better in the playoffs, upping his accuracy from beyond the arc to 45.3% on eight attempts per game.

He takes every shot like he's going to knock every single one of them down. Bane operates with the swagger of some of the best shooters in the NBA, but in his mind there's nobody else better – except for one notable exception.

When asked how many three-point shooters are better than him right now, Bane has a quick reply. “Steph Curry.”

Anyone else?

“Other than that, you’re gonna have to show me,” the Grizzlies wing tells Sports Illustrated, leaning back in a courtside seat. “Steph deserves his flowers, and Klay Thompson, I mean, he’s come back from injury. But outside of that I want to be looked at and talked about in the same conversation as those guys. … That’s what I’m striving for.”

Most NBA stars think they're the best in the league. It's the level of confidence needed to make it that far. But Stephen Curry has so far exceeded everyone else on three-pointers that everyone's just playing for second. But being second to the greatest shooter of all-time isn't a bad goal for Desmond Bane. Grizzlies fans will take that in a heartbeat.
