The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night, 120-108. Jaren Jackson Jr. led the way for the Grizzlies with 26 points. But it's Desmond Bane's stat line that has people astounded.

Bane, who wears number 22, shot exactly 22.2 percent from the field (4-18). He dropped two assists, had two blocks, two steals, two fouls and two turnovers on 2/2/22. It's obviously a coincidence, but what a coincidence it is.

Despite the relatively poor outing from the rising star in Bane, the Grizzlies improved to 36-18 on the season. They have won four of their last five and pulled into the third position in the NBA's Western Conference.

Since the beginning of December, the Grizzlies have the most wins in the NBA. They also lead the league in net rating and defensive rating over that stretch. What's even crazier is how well the team is performing considering the lack of experience. Memphis does not have a single player over 30 and only three players over the age of 25.

Bane is having a breakout season for Memphis. He has doubled his production from his rookie season last year. Bane is averaging over 18 points per game, and is shooting 42 percent from deep.

Of course, Ja Morant is the biggest reason for the giant leap forward for the team. He has joined the MVP conversation and continues to dominate on a nightly basis. But the contributions from guys like Dillon Brooks and Jaren Jackson Jr. have helped take this team to a new level.

The NBA has been put on notice. This team is not going anywhere.
