The Memphis Grizzlies beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-2 to win the series and move on to the second round, but it was not easy. Just ask superstar guard Ja Morant.

After helping the Grizzlies close out the Timberwolves in Game 6, Morant opened up about the tough battle they just went through. He admitted that it took a lot from him physically and mentally as they had to win ugly in a lot of games. Fortunately it's over now and they can rest for a few days before the second round starts.

“I’m tired. Physically, mentally, this series was a battle. … The wins were pretty ugly outside of Game 2, but we got it done. … Time to turn the page,” Morant shared, per Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian.

The Grizzlies showed their mental toughness and resiliency throughout the series, and they certainly deserve a ton of praise as they prove they have what it takes to go deep into the postseason.

However, as Ja Morant said, it was an extremely challenging series that took a toll on them. Including Friday's contest, they had to erase a total of three double-digit leads heading into the fourth quarter. In Game 5, they were down by 11 points and won, while they came back from a 16-point deficit in Game 3 to win as well.

Sure enough, the Grizzlies will be hoping for better performances come the second round, though their first round series has undoubtedly given them some invaluable experience.
