Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant is more than excited to be facing off against Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs.

Right after the Timberwolves beat the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday to secure the seventh seed and a date with the Grizzlies in the playoffs opener, Morant took to Twitter to hype up his showdown with Edwards even more.

There's no lies there, though. Two of of the most electrifying and athletic guards in the NBA meeting in the first round? It doesn't get any better than that!

Making things even more exciting, the Grizzlies and Timberwolves actually split their four meetings this season–and none of them won back-to-back games in their meetings. There is just one game that Morant wasn't able to play in those contests, so you know these two teams match up very well.

Ja Morant averaged 27.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game this 2021-22, while Anthony Edwards had a solid line of 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

The Grizzlies will be heading to the playoffs with more confidence, though. They are the no. 2 seed in the West, and they finished the season with the second-best record in the NBA at 56-26. Memphis and Minnesota meet on Saturday for Game 1 of their series, though fans are probably wishing the games will be days earlier.
