Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant is getting close to his return from knee injury. In fact, ahead of Saturday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, he has been upgraded to questionable.

Morant has missed the Grizzlies' last nine games due to a right knee soreness. He last played on March 18 against the Atlanta Hawks, though the team has remained stable and tallied a 7-2 record in his absence.

Ja Morant's potential return couldn't come at a better time as well. With the Grizzlies entering the playoffs, they will need their superstar to be at his best if they want to compete for the title. Getting back before the playoffs and suiting up in at least one of their final two games could also be beneficial for Morant to help him shake off the rust from such a lengthy absence.

The Grizzlies youngster and 2021-22 first-time All-Star is averaging 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists on 49.3 percent shooting from the field. While the Grizzlies have done well in his absence, he is still their go-to guy and his presence will be more important than ever in the postseason.

For what it's worth, Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins also hinted on Thursday that there is a good chance Morant could play in one of their final two games. He noted that the 22-year-old is progressing well in his recovery and getting close.

The Grizzlies will finish the season with the second-best record in the West and the whole NBA–only behind the top-seeded Phoenix Suns. And with Morant returning, fans should really like their chances of making it deep in the postseason this time around.
