The Memphis Grizzlies ended up not trading veteran point guard Mike Conley at this year's trade deadline, but NBA insider Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports believes the franchise will move the lefty in the summer.

Memphis was open to trading Conley and center Marc Gasol. The Grizzlies shipped Gasol to the Toronto Raptors and had discussions with the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons about a Conley trade. Haynes thinks once the offseason begins, the Grizzlies will try and move Conley again.

“Mike Conley is another guy [who seems likely to be traded],” Haynes said on the Hoops Hype podcast with Alex Kennedy. “I spoke with him a little bit during this All-Star Weekend and it’s only a matter of time. I think he’s dealt by this summertime.”

Conley has spent his entire NBA career with the Grizzlies. He signed a five-year, $152.6 million maximum contract with Memphis in the summer of 2016. The 31-year-old will make $32,511,623 next season.

The Grizzlies have one of the worst records in the league this season and are in rebuild mode. The organization is looking to build around rookie big man Jaren Jackson Jr. now, so moving Conley in the summer makes sense. Memphis can probably get some draft picks for Conley.

In 57 games this season, Conley is averaging 20.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists. m
