The Memphis Grizzlies hit the road to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday night. Below we will continue our NBA odds series as we hand out a Grizzlies-Timberwolves prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The Grizzlies are 15-25 this season, and they have won three of their last five games. In their last 10 games, the Grizzlies are .500. However, they have lost their two games against the Timberwolves this season. Jaren Jackson Jr is the leading scorer for the Grizzlies against Minnesota. He is scoring 19.5 points per game while Desmond Bane is averaging 14.5. However, Bane has a left ankle sprain, and will miss at least six weeks.

The Timberwolves are the best team in the Western Conference. This game will be their second game in as many nights. What makes the Timberwolves even better is their 16-2 home record. Minnesota is led by Anthony Edwards followed by three big men. Their presence in the paint is real because of this. However, Edwards is dealing with some pain in his knee, so he is questionable for the game. Minnesota has also beaten the Grizzlies twice already this season, and both games were decided by double digits.

Why The Grizzlies Could Cover The Spread

Memphis needs some of their role players to step up. Without Desmond Bane and Ja Morant, the Grizzlies are without two very major players. Jaren Jackson Jr, Santi Aldama, and Luke Kennard to do some major stepping up. These three players are not who one would expect to lead a team, but it is what the Grizzlies have at the moment. If they can have a good game, the Grizzlies will keep the game closer than expected and cover the spread.

Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread

The Timberwolves have already beaten the Grizzlies twice this season, and Memphis has struggled to score in both. Memphis is averaging 100 points per game against the Timberwolves this season. With that said, the Timberwolves should be able to hold the Grizzlies to a low score once again in this one. If Minnesota can continue solid defense play, they will win this game and cover the spread.

Minnesota is the best defensive team in the NBA. They allow the least amount of points per game by more than three points. They also allow the lowest field goal percentage in the NBA. The Grizzlies are going to have some major struggles scoring in this game, and it will show. Because of this, the Timberwolves should have no problem covering the spread.

Final Grizzlies-Timberwolves Prediction & Pick

The Grizzlies do not have Desmond Bane, Ja Morant, or Marcus Smart for a very long time. Not having those three players is a huge hit both offensively and defensively. Smart is a very solid defensive player while Bane and Morant are two pretty good scorers. The Grizzlies do not have any of the tools needed to win this game, and it would not be surprising to see them go on a long losing streak. For this reason, I am going to take the Timberwolves to win by a large amount.

Final Grizzlies-Timberwolves Prediction & Pick: Timberwolves -12.5 (-110), Over 214 (-110)
