Cleveland Guardians manager Terry Francona shared his honest opinion on rookie phenom Steven Kwan's jaw-dropping beginning to the 2022 season.

“His at-bat was terrific. They tried to throw him off-speed today. His at-bats are great and I’m staying the obvious here. I bet there’s a lot of player development people who have their chest out right now and rightfully so.”

The at-bat Francona was referring to was a triple Kwan hit in Monday's win over the royals.

Kwan has taken the MLB by storm through the first few games of the season. He is breaking records and accomplishing feats players haven't done in 120 years.

Credit needs to be given to the Guardians front office. Despite enormous pressure to sign star free agents and sure up the outfield over the offseason, Cleveland believed in Kwan's ability and provided him with an everyday opportunity. The results have been nothing short of incredible. As of this story's publication, Steven Kwan is slashing .692/.789/1.000 with a 1.789 OPS. Are his numbers going to decline at some point? Yes. But is Kwan a potential superstar? Absolutely.

Terry Francona and the Guardians love what they have in Kwan but they still may be looking to add outfield help. A recent report suggested that they were in contact with free agent outfielder Michael Conforto. An outfield that features Kwan and Conforto would be dangerous.

For now, Steven Kwan will look to keep producing at a high level and helping the Guardians win games. Cleveland takes on the Reds in Cincinnati in the battle for Ohio on Tuesday.
