In case you missed it, Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade turned 40 this year. Those of us who grew up watching this man terrorize the league during his younger years will feel quite old after coming across this fact.

While most 40-somethings are complaining about all sorts of random body aches, Wade is out there auditioning for next year's Dunk Contest. A clip of the 13-time All-Star throwing down an alley-oop dunk off the backboard is currently makings its rounds on social media — and for good reason (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

After draining a triple, Wade decided to turn things up a bit by throwing a pass to himself off the backboard. As if that wasn't difficult enough, the Heat icon then proceeded to do a mid-air 180 to dunk the ball reverse-style. Some things just never change.

Wade, who was recently named as part of the NBA's Top 75 all-time players, called it a career in 2019. Next year, he's going to be retired for four years, which means that Dwyane Wade is going to be eligible for the Hall of Fame. He's definitely a lock as a first-ballot Hall of Fame, and it's just awesome that he still has these hops when he gets inducted.
