In their opening game in the 2022 NBA playoffs, the Miami Heat showed why they are the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Miami defeated the Atlanta Hawks by a score of 115-91 and took a lead as big as 32 points in Game 1 of the first-round series. Several Heat players came to play. Jimmy Butler's 21 points and P.J. Tucker's 16 points on 6-8 shooting were overshadowed by the team's sharpshooter, who annihilated Atlanta off the bench.

Duncan Robinson feasted on the Hawks' defense with an extremely efficient game, scoring 27 points in 9-10 shooting. He broke the franchise's record for triples in a single playoff game with eight triples. Going “kaboom!” from deep so efficiently gave the Heat an easy route to victory.

With all the other 3-point records Robinson has for the Heat — namely most makes in a season, for which he owns the top three spots on the leaderboard — it makes sense that he takes another. His ability to hit deep shots and shoot effectively after movement gives the Heat's offense a very dangerous dimension.

Robinson becoming one of the league's best shooters after going undrafted shows why the Heat are as successful as they are. Their player development is second-to-none. Finding diamonds in the rough and acquiring stars has made the Heat a formidable squad.

Although Robinson likely won't have as good of a game as he did today moving forward, the Heat should steamroll the Hawks in the first round.
