Miami mayor Francis Suarez has announced that Northeast 7th street has been renamed Dwyane Wade Boulevard to honor the Miami Heat legend.
#Miami has always been #WadeCounty but, today, it’s official. After giving @DwyaneWade the Key to the City, we’re now designating the street fronting Biscayne Blvd as Dwyane Wade Blvd. This solidifies D Wade not only as a @MiamiHEAT hero, but a @CityofMiami hero. @Brendan_Tobin pic.twitter.com/avJm7uszuA

So Wade now has a county named after him, a street named after him and a day named after him. Not bad for a kid from Robbins, Illinois.
As we all know, Dwyane Wade is the best player in Heat history. He finished his NBA career with averages of 22.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists, all while winning three titles with the Heat and the 2006 Finals MVP.
The way Wade ended his NBA career was epic. He recorded a triple-double in his last game against the Brooklyn Nets with his best friends courtside. LeBron James, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony made the trip to the Barclays Center to watch Wade play his final game in the NBA with the Heat.
Wade got his No. 3 jersey retired by the Heat on Saturday. That was the second part of Heat's three-day event for Wade. The third and final part of the event was the Heat screening an exclusive early look at a new feature-length documentary that chronicles Wade’s NBA career and life off the court as he goes through his final year in the league with Miami. It will reflect back on his personal and professional challenges, victories and setbacks throughout his unwavering journey.
