Heat legend Dwyane Wade posts hilarious meme video of himself

Dwyane Wade recently said that he still doesn’t feel retired. The Miami Heat legend has had much more free time to post on social media since ending his career at the conclusion of the 2018-19 season, though, and took advantage of it again on Friday by posting a hilarious meme of himself.

Wade, 37, insisted earlier this week that his retirement from the NBA still hasn’t quite registered.

β€œI don’t feel retired yet,” he said, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. β€œI’m sure once training camp starts, media day, all those things that I’m used to when I’m not involved in that, that’s when it will feel like, β€˜Oh dang, I really retired.’”

Wade should certainly feel retired in the wake of his final season, which played out as a months-long farewell to one of the greatest players of his era across NBA arenas. A three-time champion with the Miami Heat, he won Finals MVP in 2006 with one of the most dominant championship-series performances of all time, then took a backseat to LeBron James, his best friend, for Miami’s back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013.

Wade fared better than many anticipated in his NBA swan song, averaging 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists just 26.2 minutes per game.
