Former NBA All-Star Chris Bosh is set to receive the highest honor a team can bestow on one of its players. During halftime of Tuesday night's game against the Orlando Magic, the Miami Heat will retire his No. 1 jersey.

Though his stint in Miami was cut short due to medical issues, Bosh had the opportunity to play alongside two of the greatest players to ever grace hardwood floor: LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Along the way, they made basketball history.

Wade, who has said this will be his final season of service in the NBA, believes Bosh is deserving of this great honor:

“He’s so deserving,” Wade told ESPN's Ira Winderman. “It’s just a moment for all of us to thank him.”

Bosh, now 35 years of age, joins Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway and Shaquille O'Neal as the only other players to have their jerseys retired by the Heat.

Over the course of his 13-year career in the league, Bosh racked up several prestigious accolades, including 11 All-Star selections and two championships. In 893 games played, the former No. 4 overall pick racked up averages of 19.2 points on 44.4 percent shooting from the field, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and one block in 35.8 minutes per outing.

“I am proud that Chris will have his No. 1 jersey retired and be honored inside the AmericanAirlines Arena with this recognition for the greatness as a player on the court and his tremendous contributions to the Miami community off the court,” Heat president Pat Riley said in an official statement. “His name and jersey will hang forever and always.”

Bosh's legacy with the Heat lives on in the records he set with the team. Among Miami’s all-time postseason leaders, he ranks third in points (1,163), field goals made (437), offensive rebounds (145), double-doubles (18), and double-digit scoring games (61). He ranks fourth in starts (74), free throws made (237), defensive rebounds (421), total rebounds (566), steals (71), blocks (89) and 20-point games (17).
