Hogwarts Legacy Official Gameplay Reveal during a Sony PlayStation State of Play – showing us for the first time official gameplay footage of the upcoming action role-playing game from Avalanche Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Hogwarts Legacy – Official Gameplay Reveal

We finally have a first look at the Wizarding World video game Hogwarts Legacy. In this upcoming action role-playing game, players enter Hogwarts late, entering the school straight to the fifth year. As such, the player will have to catch up on a lot of things, learning fundamental and intermediate magic at the same time.

Attending Classes in Hogwarts

Choose which House you want to enter, which appears to affect the dormitory you'll stay in as well as some story beats. You'll start your adventure attending classes like Charms, Potions, and Herbology, just to name a few. During these classes, you'll develop your relationship with your professors and fellow students. We even got a glimpse of a dueling lesson, giving us some Gilderoy Lockhart memories. Of course, being set a lot of years prior to the Harry Potter films, the Hogwarts Castle has a lot of differences from what we're familiar with in the films, and we're going to meet a different set of people than what we usually see in Wizarding World Media. Of course, some of the older ghosts would still be present, just like the Headless Hunter.

Exploring the Hogwarts Castle

As a student of Hogwarts, players will be able to explore the Hogwarts Castle in their free time, discovering secret and forbidden areas, dungeons, and a lot of secret passageways. Players will have to use their magical skills to solve puzzles and navigate the Castle. Even beyond the castle walls, players will be able to navigate the grounds around Hogwarts, discovering open fields and areas filled with magical creatures and environments. Use your knowledge of magic flight with your broomstick to help you explore more areas.

Goblin Revolution

Work with the famous and enigmatic Professor Fig as you unravel a dangerous mystery about a mounting goblin rebellion that might put the safety of Hogwarts at risk. The Gameplay Reveal Trailer showcased combat scenes against these Goblins, which shows how magic combat in the game works. Meanwhile, other wizards and witches aligned with the goblins, helping them with their insidious plans. Master your magic and become a great duelist as you fight against these shady characters in the game.

Progression and Talents

Complete challenges and side quests in the game to earn experience points and Talents, allowing you to improve your magic and skills. You can also find loot and gear to improve your magical capabilities, with customization options available to fit your desired playstyle. Brew potions when needed to help you in battle and give you a boost. You can even bring creatures and magical plants that you can use to your advantage in battle.

The Room of Requirement

Gain access to the Room of Requirement, where you can get various items that you need in Hogwarts Legacy. The room lets you plant seeds and brew potions, waiting real-world time for them to be ready before you can harvest them and use them as you see fit. Entering Hogwarts in your Fifth Year means you'll have to catch up to your peers, and the Room of Requirement is where you'll find most things that can help you get up to speed.

The Herbarium

The House Elf Deke will lead the player to a Herbarium that looks small from the outside but is expanded with magic inside. With this, players will be able to nurture their own menagerie of magical beasts, befriending and petting them to give the player various advantages in your magical adventure. This space can be customized, similar to Genshin Impact's Serenitea Pot. Put up buildings that will help you develop things for your magical adventure, tame beasts, and grow plants in your personal Herbarium, all to yourself.

Hogsmeade

Not everything you need can be found and Hogwarts, so sometimes a short detour to the neighboring Hogsmeade would be in order. Here, you can find supplies, from seeds to magical ingredients and gear. Be wary of the dark witches and wizards here, though, as they are out for blood. Explore the outskirts of the school throughout the year through rain and sunny days, from winter to spring and autumn. Help out villagers in their troubles for some rewards, and solve environmental puzzles for secret boons, some of which are developed by the legendary Merlin himself. Just be wary of where you explore, as you may uncover wonderful secrets, but also meet dangers – make sure you are well-equipped with magical skills and spells to help you fend for yourself in your journey.
