Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio, the publisher and developers behind SEGA's House of the Dead: Remake, has just announced that the game will be releasing the game onto multiple platforms next week, merely less than an entire month after the Nintendo Switch's timed exclusive release. This remake of the classic on-rails arcade horror shooter takes the original 1996 classic and updates it with modern visuals, new music, and presentation all while retaining the original gameplay.

It was previously released on the Nintendo Switch on April 7th, 2022, but with the announcement made on the official House of the Death Remake Twitter page, the game will be launching on Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. Many fans were surprised to hear this announcement came so soon as many were expecting the game to be released much later than this. With the game being ported to much more powerful hardware, many fans are looking forward to enjoying the House of the Dead remake with better performance, more functional control schemes, and potential  PC modding support. It has also been mentioned on Twitter that PS Move support will be available for the Playstation 4 version sometime after release.

As many players and reviews have mentioned, while the game does a fairly good job at staying faithful to the 1997 original game in some aspects, many have also criticized the game, stating that the shooting mechanics are marred by poor sensitivity due to the Nintendo Switch's gyro aiming, a lack of remixed music from the original game, and a host of other noteworthy concerns. Regardless of its faults, many people are looking forward to seeing the game be re-released on April 28th.

House of the Dead: Remake will be launching on Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC via and Google Stadia on April 28th, 2022, and is available now on Nintendo Switch.
