Tom Blyth starred as a young Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

The prequel takes place over six decades before the events of the first Hunger Games film, with Blyth taking over the role of Snow from Donald Sutherland.

Nothing is guaranteed in Hollywood, and there has been no movement on a sequel to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Granted, it didn't perform particularly well at the box office, grossing just over $330 million. That was by far the lowest-grossing entry in the franchise.

Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) starred in the film with Blyth as Lucy Gray Baird, the Hunger Games District 12 tribute in the 10th games. The ensemble also featured the likes of Josh Andrés Rivera, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman, Hunter Schafer, and Viola Davis.

Still, Blyth is open to a return and said that he believes there's “a lot of eagerness” with the cast to return. Speaking to ClutchPoints about Billy the Kid Season 2: Part Two, Blyth discussed his hopes to not only return as Snow in future Hunger Games films but also what he'd specifically like to see from his character.

“I mean, I don't know if we're coming back for sure — there are whispers, but there's always whispers, so you don't know,” Blyth acknowledged regarding a return. “I think there's a lot of  eagerness. There's a lot of will to come back and do another one.”

Would Tom Blyth return to the Hunger Games?

As for himself, Blyth wants to come back for “at least” one or two more projects.

“I know I personally would love to keep revisiting the character at least once or twice more. I think there's a lot more to tell,” Blyth said, continuing, “I think the character is fascinating and a great study of the strongman dictator and who they are before and [it's] more relevant than ever in today's world.”

Ultimately, the decision comes down to Suzanne Collins. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was written nearly a decade after the third book in the Hunger Games trilogy, Mockingjay, was published. Blyth himself doesn't even know if she will ever write another.

“It would have to come from the creator, Suzanne Collins, writing another book, which, we don't know if she is or not. She might be,” Blyth explained.

Coriolanus Snow at Capitol University?

In a hypothetical world, Blyth would love to continue to see the rise of Coriolanus Snow. He wants to see him go to school and become a Gamemaker should he get the chance.

“I'd love to see him go through the Capitol University and become a Gamemaker,” he revealed. “Maybe even Head Gamemaker and become president. I'd love to see what happens and how that all pans out.”

Before any sequel to The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is released, Tom Blyth can be seen in MGM+'s Billy the Kid Season 2: Part Two. He stars in the title role of the series.
