With an Indianapolis Colts Week 16 game scheduled for Christmas Day against the Arizona Cardinals, NFL fans will get treated to a matchup between two teams with playoff aspirations. Ahead of the Colts-Cardinals game, we'll be making our Colts Week 16 predictions.

The Indianapolis Colts are in the midst of an impressive stretch that has seen them go 7-2 after a 1-4 start to the season. The Colts are clearly the only threat to the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South, as they are far ahead of the two cellar-dwellers, the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts are coming off of a convincing primetime win over the New England Patriots last week as they prepare to take on the Cardinals.

For more insight on the Colts' Week 16 matchup against the Cardinals, listen below:

The Arizona Cardinals raced out to a 7-0 start and looked like they were going to run away with the NFC's number-one seed. The team has since been plagued by injuries to quarterback Kyler Murray, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and star defensive end J.J. Watt. Such injuries, as well as inconsistent performances, have the Cardinals on shaky ground heading into the matchup with the Colts. Look for the surging Colts to take advantage of the reeling Cardinals as they continue their red-hot stretch.

If the Colts can earn the win over the Cardinals and get a Titans loss, the two teams will be tied atop the AFC South. That said, here are our Colts Week 16 predictions.

Indianapolis Colts Week 16 Predictions

4. Carson Wentz throws for under 200 yards for a third straight week

The Colts have embraced a run-first offense as the season has gone on. In the last two Colts' wins, Carson Wentz has attempted just 17 passes per game and has thrown for 158 and 57 passing yards, respectively. The Colts signal-caller has two touchdowns and one interception in that span as he has successfully operated as a game-manager. Indianapolis doesn't need Wentz to be a gunslinger, especially with Jonathan Taylor and their underrated defense leading the way. Look for the Colts to go run-heavy once again against the Cardinals, leaving Wentz to handle hand-offs and the occasional passing attempt.

3. Jonathan Taylor obliterates Cardinals defense for 200-plus yards and two touchdowns

Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has been the best halfback in the NFL this season. Taylor's 1,518 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns lead the NFL. He has added 336 yards through the air and three more touchdowns. Over the last five games, Taylor has averaged 139 rushing yards per game and has scored nine touchdowns in that span. It's real simple. When the Colts feed Taylor, they win. Plus, the Cardinals defense has been much more susceptible to the run than the pass. Look for Indianapolis to try to control the clock and lean on Taylor, who should continue to enjoy running behind the Colts' elite offensive line en route to a monster day against the Cardinals.

2. Colts force Kyler Murray into multiple turnovers

The Colts are currently tied with the Dallas Cowboys for the NFL lead in takeaways. They have an opportunistic defense, led by Darius Leonard and Kenny Moore II. Plus, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has struggled without top weapon DeAndre Hopkins, as he has thrown for three interceptions in his last two games. The Colts have the speed at the linebacker spots to keep Murray in the pocket and eliminate his ability to run. Look for the Colts defense to help jump start their offense with an early turnover en route to forcing multiple takeaways from Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.

1. Colts dominate the Cardinals to win the game

The Cardinals are currently favored over Indianapolis, but should they be? Arizona is coming off of a disappointing loss to the Lions and return home, to where they have been a much more mediocre team, as they are just 3-3 playing in front of their home fans, compared to 7-1 on the road. Plus, Indianapolis has been better on the road and match up well with the Cardinals. Look for Indianapolis to get an early turnover or two, jump out to a lead and then lean on the rushing ability of Jonathan Taylor to seal a complete- and dominant- win over Arizona.
