In what can be considered a lost season for the Jacksonville Jaguars, quarterback Blake Bortles may be back under center for Week 16.

According to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com, Marrone did not rule out the possibility of Bortles playing in the Jaguars' game against the Miami Dolphins next weekend:

“I don’t know. I’m going to evaluate everything like I do after every game,” said Marrone.

This comes on the heels of a dreadful performance by Cody Kessler in Jacksonville's loss against the Washington Redskins on Sunday, in which Kessler completed just nine of his 17 passes for 57 yards to go along with two turnovers and six sacks.

Kessler usurped Bortles as the Jaguars' starting quarterback after Bortles went just 12-for-23 for 127 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions during a loss to the Buffalo Bills back on Nov. 25.

Kessler has had a couple of decent performances since taking over, including last week against the Tennessee Titans when he went 25-of-43 for 240 yards and a touchdown a blowout loss, but he has not done nearly enough to win the starting job moving forward.

It has been a really rough year for Bortles, who came within one half of leading Jacksonville to its first-ever Super Bowl last year. In 11 games this season, Bortles has thrown for 2,572 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 picks while completing 60.4 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 81.9.

The quarterback position is far from the Jaguars' only problem, though. The team is just 4-10 in a year that some felt it would represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
