Gardner Minshew is entering his first full season as the starting quarterback of the Jacksonville Jaguars. And he's confident in that the Jaguars can shock some people next season.

In a sit down with John Oehser of the team's official website, Minshew laid out his expectations for Jacksonville in 2020:

“We set the expectations we have for ourselves. We set expectations really high. We're not going to listen to any of the noise, good or bad. Whatever it is, we're going to set really high expectations for ourselves and try to live up to them every day.”

In his rookie campaign in 2019, Minshew was able to contribute 3,271 yards, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions. As a result of his efforts, the Jaguars felt comfortable trading Nick Foles this offseason, effectively making him the starter next season.

Following a fantastic rookie season, there is optimism surrounding Minshew. Sadly, the same can't be said for the Jaguars as a whole.

Heading into the upcoming season, Jacksonville is projected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL. Some media pundits believe that the Jaguars will be in prime position to secure the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. That means Minshew's job could be in jeopardy as soon as next year.

So far in his career, Minshew hasn't lacked confidence on or off the field. Not many players are comfortable rocking jean shorts and an impressive mustache in unison.

Despite the expectations that most people have placed on the Jaguars this offseason, Minshew believes Jacksonville can achieve great things in 2020.
