Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles was able to find D.J. Chark for a 35-yard score against the Kansas City Chiefs in the first quarter. On the play though, Foles took a huge hit and made his way to the locker room. The newly signed quarterback has already been ruled out for the remainder of the game with a shoulder injury.

Coming into the game, the Jaguars already were underdogs to win the game against the high-flying Chiefs offense. Now with the tough blow to Foles early in the game, it's tough to envision Jacksonville keeping up with Patrick Mahomes and company.

Foles signed with the Jaguars this offseason to a lucrative four-year deal that is worth $88 million. Over the past two seasons, the veteran quarterback has spent his time being the savior for the Philadelphia Eagles while Carson Wentz struggled with injuries.

Just two years ago, Foles was leading the way for Philadelphia to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history. The Jaguars were hoping that bringing him in would provide them with a championship pedigree under center.

If Foles misses any time, Jacksonville will have to rely on rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew. Minshew struggled in the preseason; only being able to complete 54 of his 96 passing attempts.

Furthermore, depending on Foles' status moving forward, the Jaguars will probably be in the market for a veteran signal-caller. We will continue to gather details on what the diagnosis of Foles' injury is.
