With Urban Meyer's Jacksonville Jaguars tenure coming to an early end, less than one full year into his five-year contract, the franchise is set to conduct a new head coaching search this offseason. Already a few candidates have emerged as potential replacements for Meyer, and there are some intriguing options at the forefront of the conversation, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

According to Rapoport, the Jaguars have shown interest in former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, former Detroit Lions boss Jim Caldwell, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.

Both Caldwell and Pederson have head coaching experience and could be valuable additions to a young Jaguars' team. Caldwell was previously in charge in both Indianapolis and Detroit, having compiled a 62-50 record across seven seasons with both teams. He's 2-4 through six career playoff appearances, but hasn't been given another head coaching opportunity since being let go by Detroit after the 2017 season, having been replaced by Matt Patricia.

As for Pederson, the former Eagles' boss led the team to a Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots in 2017, amassing a total coaching record of 42-37-1 across five seasons. He was let go after the 2020 campaign following a disappointing 4-11-1 season.

Leftwich, on the other hand, has never served as a head coach but has been considered one of the top offensive coordinators in the league over the past half-decade. Currently as Tampa Bay's OC, Leftwich could come in and play a significant role in the development of Trevor Lawrence, who has struggled for the Jaguars in his rookie season.

As the Jaguars continue to iron out their plans for the offseason, expect these three names to be at the forefront of their head coaching conversation.
