The Jacksonville Jaguars fired Tom Coughlin from his post as executive vice president of football operations on Wednesday. Former Jaguar and current Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey seemed to reference it on Twitter:

It seems pretty obvious that Ramsey is taking a subtle jab at Coughlin.

While Ramsey has never publicly derided Coughlin by name, he has mentioned his disdain for a certain member of the Jaguars organization since he was traded from the club earlier this season and has thrown numerous cryptic shots at Coughlin via social media over the last several days.

Things began to unravel this past offseason when Ramsey and the Jags could not come to terms on a long-term extension, which bothered Ramsey.

Then, during Jacksonville's Week 2 loss to the Houston Texans, Ramsey got into an altercation with head coach Doug Marrone on the sideline. After the game, Ramsey met with Jaguars executives.

He then asked for a trade, citing the fact that he felt disrespected.

It was never revealed what was actually said in the meeting, but obviously, it was enough to peeve Ramsey to the point where he no longer wanted to be in Jacksonville.

The Jags ended up trading him to the Rams on Oct. 15.

In 11 games between Jacksonville and Los Angeles in 2019, Ramsey has logged 46 tackles and a couple of forced fumbles en route to his third straight Pro Bowl appearance.

The 25-year-old old, who entered the NFL in 2016, also has a first-team All-Pro selection (2017) under his belt.
