Jennifer Garner is reportedly encouraging her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, to work things out with Jennifer Lopez as the couple has made headlines in recent weeks about trouble in their marriage. Garner, who was married to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor from 2005–2018 and share children Violet, Fin and Samuel together, wants what is best for the two.
“She fully supports their relationship and wants nothing more than for him to be happy,” a source told Us Weekly Tuesday (May 21).
“Jennifer Garner is encouraging Ben to work on his marriage to Jen,” the source said, adding that Garner understands how being in the spotlight “can put a strain” on a relationship.

Lopez and Affleck's marriage began making headlines when the two were not seen out together in over five weeks. An insider disclosed to Entertainment Tonight that the marriage between the two “hasn't been as great” for some time now.
“They have gone through phases where things haven't been as great between them due to their different personalities and not getting enough time together,” the source says. “They're not always on the same page. They both have so much going on between taking care of their families and their work commitments and it can be a lot for them.”
The rumors really have started to swirl as In Touch reported that the couple was “headed for a divorce.”
“The writing is on the wall – it’s over,” the insider told the publication. “They’re headed for a divorce – and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!”
“He's focusing on his work and his kids now,” the insider adds. “Ben already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”
However, Lopez has “not been paying much attention to any outside hate.”
“Ben is 100 percent supportive of Jen and keeps it real with her,” the source said. “They both know this is part of the business and remind each other that you can't please everyone. They acknowledge what really matters, lift each other up, and encourage each other's talents and capabilities.”
Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck Seen Out Together Amid Marriage Trouble
On Friday (May 17), the two were photographed in a parking lot together with Lopez holding a bouquet of flowers.
They were also seen together on Monday (May 20) with Affleck driving and Lopez in the passenger seat.
Despite being photographed together on Monday, Lopez attended the premiere of her new film Atlas solo. Fans further speculated that there was some trouble between the couple as the singer “liked” an Instagram post about relationship red flags.
“You cannot build a healthy relationship with someone,” the post read, “who lacks integrity & emotional safety.”
The caption added, “You can't build a relationship with someone who is disconnected from themselves. We can't expect someone to see us when we can't even see themselves. Getting in a relationship is the easy part. Nurturing & fostering it is a different story. After all, love is not a feeling, it's action.”
The post also included other red flags such as someone who “doesn't respect your time, doesn't think it's important to call/text back in a reasonable time frame,” “lacks effective communication skills = silent treatment, withdraws, refuses to communicate unless it's on their terms” and “doesn't know who they are or what they want.”
