Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson have been sharing mutual praise this offseason and during the first week of New York Jets training camp. Actions speak much louder than words, though, and what they’re doing together on the field at camp is wowing everyone, including coach Robert Saleh.

It’s clear the Jets' rejuvenated veteran quarterback is building chemistry quickly with his expected top target and reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. The pair have hooked up on several eye-popping plays already.

This red-zone toe-tapping TD near the end of practice Sunday might be the best one yet:

“So, I get to wear two, well three hats,” Saleh said. “The offensive hat says, ‘Hell yeah, makes life easy.’ The defensive hat says, ‘Well, what the hell are you supposed to do?’”

Saleh noted that Rodgers “does a great job threading needles.”

The Jets coach also sees greatness in Wilson, who turned 23 Saturday and has practiced often against stud corner Sauce Gardner.

“He’s capable of as much as he wants to give. He is special,” Saleh said.

Earlier in camp, Rodgers doubled down on a previous take that Wilson reminds the QB of Davante Adams. Rodgers contends that Adams, his former teammate, is the best wide receiver in the NFL but that Wilson could be No. 1 one day.

Wilson caught a Jets rookie record 83 passes last season. That was with Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco, Mike White and Chris Streveler at quarterback. His potential seems unlimited playing with a future Hall of Famer.

They’re certainly off to a great start together.
