The 2017 NFL season was undoubtedly a forgettable one for New York Jets wide receiver Terrelle Pryor. Unfortunately, he has not had much better luck getting prepared this offseason.

Pryor had suffered multiple ankle injuries during his lone season with the Washington Redskins. According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the issue has carried over into this offseason:

Source: New NYJets WR Terrelle Pryor suffered another ankle injury this offseason. That's why he is not out here at OTAs. Remember: He dealt with ankle issues and had surgery last November in Washington.

Pryor became one of the biggest names on the market following his breakout season with the Cleveland Browns during the 2016 campaign. As a result, he signed a one-year deal with Washington with the hopes of earning a more lucrative long-term contract.

However, Pryor was unable to establish a role for himself in the offense. Furthermore, the ankle injury he suffered in Week 2 did nothing to help his chances taking n an increased role. It was not long before he ultimately opted for surgery and was sidelined for the rest of the year.

He wound up finishing with just 20 catches for 240 yards and a touchdown, which is a far cry from the 1,000-yard season he had in 2016.

That said, his injury certainly does not bode well for his chances at a resurgence this year. Fortunately, the injury is not deemed to be too serious meaning he could potentially return to practice at some point in the near future.
