New York Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley expects to be suspended for violating an NFL policy. This is according to a report by the New York Daily News.

Jeremy Kerley, who signed a one-year deal after getting cut by the 49ers last month, has 22 receptions for 217 yards and one touchdown in his second stint with the Jets. That's right. Kerley is on his second go-around with New York. Kerley, the Jets' fifth-round pick in 2011, played five seasons with Gang Green before getting cut in 2016.

The report by the New York Daily News never mentions what NFL policy the wide receiver believes he violated. There are many potential violations out there that can result in a suspension. Jumping to a conclusion before the details are known would be unwise at this point in the process.

This would be a relatively big blow for a Jets team clinging for their playoff chances this season. The receiver is coming off a stellar year last season, catching a career-high 64 passes for a team-high 667 yards in San Francisco last season.

Through the season, Kerley has been primary punt returner with a 5.5-yard average on 15 returns. If he does indeed get kicked to the curb for a few games (or more), the Jets would be losing more than just a receiver. The special teams would obviously be taking a huge blow as well.

This is just more strange news coming out of the New York camp, as it was reported earlier that there might be some anger in the locker room over not drafting Deshaun Watson.
