In a post by Card Ladder on Instagram, a private transaction has been confirmed regarding the sale of a 2020 Panini National Treasures Justin Herbert Rookie NFL Shield Patch Auto One of One earlier this month. The price? Well, it just sold for $550,000. All things considered, that amount is worth more than the average individual’s house.
Card Ladder added that this massive NFL RPA card was first pulled late last month during the 2021 National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago in a box break. The lucky person who got that spot in the break offered the card up for sale, negotiated with a private party, and an agreement was reached after.
In comparison, a Mahomes 2017 National Treasures RPA NFL Shield One of One card sold for $4.3 million recently, making it the most expensive football card in history. All things considered, that’s still a long way to go for this particular Justin Herbert card in the market.
Meanwhile, on eBay, the most expensive Justin Herbert offering is a PSA 10 2020 Prizm Gold rookie auto numbered to 10 copies. It sold last month for $75,200. If he manages to have a long and productive career in the NFL, collectors can expect these cards, especially the One of One monster recently sold, to skyrocket in value down the line.
