Two of the best rookies from the 2015-16 NBA season were Karl-Anthony Towns and Kristaps Porzingis.

The Timberwolves center, of course, won the 2016 Rookie of the Year Award. Earlier in the season, many thought that Porzingis would take that title. The Knicks big man ultimately came in second in the voting.

Rivalry on the court between the two will continue to grow throughout their careers, but it seems they also have a great mutual respect off the court.

When Towns was asked on Twitter what he thought about the Latvian-born player, he replied lightheartedly, but in admiration.

It's great to see that in today's NBA, where players seem to call each other out on the daily – especially from a young player like Towns.

Respect will only make this emerging rivalry more fun to watch.
