Kawhi Leonard made it clear this offseason that he wants a trade from the San Antonio Spurs. But the Spurs get to pick where he goes.

It looks as if the Spurs want to keep with Gregg Popovich's philosophy of avoiding trading assets within the Western Conference.

This makes sense as the Spurs don't want to help their primary competition. It's not as if the Spurs would be restarting all together without Kawhi anyway as they still made the playoffs this year while he barely played.

Leonard's camp seems to want to get to Los Angeles either with the Lakers or Clippers and Kawhi is reportedly not concerned with the money he would be losing out on by leaving San Antonio.

It will be interesting to see if any teams in the East emerge that want Leonard. The Cavs would be very interesting as Leonard could possibly help the team keep LeBron James as well. Otherwise either the Sixers or Celtics could try and get involved.
