A new mobile game that ties together loose ends in the story is coming. Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link has just been announced.

Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link Announcement Trailer from the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Celebration

A brand-new mobile game is coming to iOS and Android devices called Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link. It's meant to be a game that connects various plot points and ties loose ends in Kingdom Hearts' story. This time around, we're getting to play as brand-new characters – representing light and darkness in this new mobile game. It also features familiar Heartless opponents and new battle arenas. Hopefully, the appearance of different characters distinct from each other in the trailer means that we can customize our own characters in the game. Otherwise, it'd be nice to get another Kingdom Hearts game where we can switch between different characters.

This game plays much more like traditional Kingdom Hearts games similar to the PS2-era of 3D action brawler gameplay. Players also appear to be able to collect Smash Brawls-style trophies, from which players appear to draw their powers and magic. The game also appears to be playable in portrait mode, allowing commuters to play this game on the way to school or work. Square Enix didn't seem to hold back, though, as the game looks like it's feature-complete. Hopefully, it won't be riddled with microtransactions.

Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link

Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link is set to have a closed beta test in select test markets this 2022. Just a quick disclaimer however that while Square Enix announced this game for mobile, the team didn't explicitly say that the game will be coming out on either iOS or Android. But that's where the game will most likely come out.
