This is the first Kirby game to come out since 2020's Kirby Fighters 2, and the first mainline game after 2018's Kirby Star Allies. This will be the first 3D non-spin-off Kirby game to be developed by HAL Laboratory.

During the Nintendo Direct on February 9, 2022, a new ability was revealed for Kirby to use in his new adventures: Mouthful Mode. Every Kirby fan knows that our lovable pink ball can suck his enemies and get their abilities. But we've only seen Kirby suck up enemies of his size… until now. During the latest trailer for the game, we saw Kirby sucking in large objects like cars, vending machines, and traffic cones, giving him new wacky abilities – but also making him appear in wacky new forms. Needless to say, we're excited to try these out!

Needless to say, we're very excited about Kirby's next big game, and, while it's not going to be the open-world outing that we first thought it was going to be, it still feels like a very fun game to play.
