Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is set to break Ray Allen's all-time 3-point record on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden, albeit after some crazy travel issues. However, legendary New York Knicks announcer Walt “Clyde” Frazier won't be in the building for Curry's record-breaking night. That's because Frazier is now in the NBA's health and safety protocols due to COVID-19, according to Steve Popper of Newsday.

Frazier wasn't set to call this Warriors-Knicks game because it's on TNT and not MSG Network, but it's certainly a bummer that Clyde will miss some time here and that he won't be able to witness such a historic moment live, assuming Curry hits the two 3-pointers he needs to pass Allen. Even though Curry is a Knicks opponent, it's still always cool to witness history. Wally Szczerbiak is expected to fill in for Frazier for upcoming games.

This Frazier news came on the heels of the news that Knicks youngster Quentin Grimes also entered the league's protocols. New York is dealing with a small outbreak at the moment, with RJ Barrett and Obi Toppin also sidelined.

COVID-19 cases are rising all across the NBA and in other sports. The Chicago Bulls just had two games postponed because of their massive outbreak (10 players and two notable announcers in Stacey King and Bill Wennington), and several other teams are currently getting decimated. The NBA is hoping to plow ahead through all these positive tests, but more and more players continue to enter these protocols, creating messy situations around the league.

As for Tuesday night's game, New York will do its best to slow down Curry and the league-best Warriors. The Knicks are on a three-game losing streak, but perhaps Golden State's travel woes will have an impact on this game and give the home team a better chance to win.
