The New York Knicks need to learn how to be consistent again. After adopting a rugged playstyle last year and making the playoffs, they have looked out of sorts this season. Despite seemingly upgrading the roster in the offseason, New York doesn't really have anything to show for it.

Evan Fournier explained the Knicks' issues with playing consistently. He pointed to New York struggling to find rhythm amidst uncertainty regarding who can carry the offense.

Fournier, though, is in a glass house throwing these stones. He has been wildly inconsistent and disappointing after signing a hefty contract in free agency with the Knicks. The most consistency he has shown is when he's scoring at will against the Boston Celtics. When he isn't facing his former team, Fournier is a liability due to his disappointing shooting and inability to provide anything else at a high level.

Although Fournier was brought in to revamp the Knicks' offense, he wasn't meant to carry it. He is also not the only inconsistent or disappointing player they have. Randle and RJ Barrett need to step up their games. Those two, after making big strides last season, have regressed significantly.

New York, after winning four of their last six games, is on the edge of the playoff picture. They need to start making serious progress in the standings. Fournier won't fix the Knicks' problems alone by being more consistent, but it would greatly help. A more consistent shooter that lets it fly at a high volume would do wonders for Randle, Barrett and the entire Knicks offense.

Fournier will get another crack at the Celtics tonight following a career-high scoring performance in New York's epic comeback win over Boston on Thursday.
