In his young NBA career, Tim Hardaway Jr. can already be classified as a journeyman. He spent his first two years with the New York Knicks, then was traded to the Atlanta Hawks and spent two seasons there, and now he just finished another season with the Knicks.

In his five seasons, he has been under a total of five coaches. And Hardaway Jr. voiced out that the changes have been tough. As reported by Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic New York, Hardaway Jr. wants some consistency:

Hardaway Jr.'s comments come in after the Knicks fired Jeff Hornacek. Hardaway Jr. joined the team last year. In his two years with the team, Hornacek finished with a  60-104 record. In a statement, Knicks President Steve Mills said, as reported by the NBA:

“We looked out and we have a plan for what this team should look like over the next three years or so,” Knicks President Steve Mills said. “We just thought this was an opportunity where we thought it was the right time to make a change.”

Reports state that the Knicks are eyeing several coaches to replace Hornacek. Names include Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy, David Fizdale, David Blatt, among others.

Last season, Hardaway Jr. is averaged 17.5 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. He may be inconsistent at times but he's been a great asset to any roster he's played with.

Hopefully, the next Knicks coach will stay longer than two years. Maybe Hardaway Jr. just needs a consistent mentor so he may perform up to par.
