The New York Knicks are ready to go all out just to bring back the NBA title to the Big Apple, so much so they are willing to part ways with RJ Barrett if it means getting Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard.

According to Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News, the Knicks are open to including Barrett in a package that will net them a superstar guard like Lillard or Washington Wizards scorer Bradley Beal. New York has other targets if things don't work out with Dame or Beal, though it is quite clear they will be their primary targets.

The source told the Daily News that the Knicks are interested in packaging rising star RJ Barrett in a deal for a star guard, like Portland’s Damian Lillard or Washington’s Bradley Beal. If both the Trail Blazers and Wizards are uninterested in a deal, the source says the Knicks are also monitoring Cleveland’s Collin Sexton, Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Charlotte’s Terry Rozier as younger guards the franchise can fold into its plans for the future.

Aside from RJ Barrett, it has been previously reported that the Knicks “are likely willing to include three first-round picks in a Lillard deal.”

Damian Lillard's name has been thrown in several trade talks as of late amid the controversies surrounding the Blazers' recent hiring of head coach Chauncey Billups. Dame has been largely criticized for endorsing Billups, whose dark past of a previous rape allegation continue to be a main talking point.

It didn't help that Lillard has posted cryptic social media posts not once but twice already, the first one seemingly asking how long he needs to stay loyal and the other hinting he's tired of the Blazers fan base.

It remains to be seen if the Knicks will be able to pull off a trade for Lillard, but it sure looks like they are ready to take their shot.
