The New York Knicks are no strangers to losing. Since the 2000-01 season, the Knicks have only had three winning seasons – 2010-11 through 2012-13 – all the rest have been losing efforts.
Included in that long run of subpar seasons are two putrid years in which the Knicks finished with awful records of 17-65, including last season, when the team was tanking incredibly hard for Zion Williamson (who ended up in New Orleans).
Now, after the Knicks were once again blown out at home (this time by an upstart Memphis Grizzlies team), Knicks fans have had enough and started a “sell the team” chant:
A loud "Sell the team" chant rises up at MSG with Knicks down 18 and a fracas on the court just broken up. MSG starts piping in loud music to break it up. Things are not going well in New York tonight. pic.twitter.com/X9zM0VQ3Vg

This chant followed a fight between the Knicks’ Elfrid Payton and the Grizzlies’ Jae Crowder after Payton cheap-shotted Crowder after attempting a corner three.
While the team being sold is likely a pipe dream, Knicks fans remain some of the most outspoken about their team in the NBA – with good reason.
