The city of Los Angeles will hold the “Celebration of Life” memorial in honor of late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant on Monday, February 24th at Staples Center.

Vanessa Bryant, Kobe's wife and Gianna's mother, announced on Instagram that the memorial will begin at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET).

“#2, #24 #20 years as a Laker and the amount of years Kob and I were together,” Vanessa wrote in a caption.

The date, 2/24, is symbolic. Kobe Bryant wore the number 24 in the latter part of his NBA career, while Gianna wore the number 2 for her youth basketball teams.

February 24th will be a very emotional day for the entire NBA community. More than 20,000 fans are expected to flock Staples Center to honor the Lakers superstar.

It's been nearly a month since Kobe and Gianna tragically passed away in a helicopter crash that also took the lives of seven other people.

The NBA world is still grieving the loss of one of its most storied figures in history. There is no questioning Bryant's impact on the game of basketball. But aside from his on-court accomplishments that include five NBA championships, two Finals MVP's, and a regular season MVP, Kobe also made a major influence on the lives of other people outside of basketball.

Throughout his life, Kobe Bryant always preached about Mamba Mentality, which refers to his unrelenting drive for excellence and greatness through sacrifice, hard work, and dedication. Many people all over the globe connected with Bryant's message, as he urged them to apply that kind of mentality in their own respective lives.

Bryant may be gone, but his legacy is still very much with us. As LeBron James said: live on, Kobe.
