Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has been diagnosed with an Achilles strain he suffered during Sunday's game against the Denver Nuggets.

The Lakers confirmed the development minutes after AD was forced to exit the game with the injury. He was seen grabbing his right Achilles as he left the court.

The extend of his injury remains uncertain at the moment, and Laker fans are hoping that it's not as serious as it seems. The New York Times' Mark Stein revealed AD will undergo an MRI on Monday.

Anthony Davis already complained about Achilles tendinosis issues last week, which forced him to miss two consecutive games. He returned to action against the Memphis Grizzlies over the weekend.

Most fans and pundits believed he has fully recovered since he played magnificently in the reigning champs' come from behind win over the Grizz, putting up 35 points and nine rebounds.

Sunday's turn of events proved that the Lakers should have been more careful with Davis' Achilles issue. Early in the second quarter against the Nuggets, Davis tried to make a move against Nikola Jokic.

The Brow accidentally bumped legs with the Serbian center, which caused him to turn the ball over as he winced in pain. He clutched his right Achilles shortly, as he made his way back to the locker room.

Without AD, the Lakers saw an end to their seven-game winning streak, losing to Denver, 105-122. The 7-time All-Star had 15 points and four boards in 14 minutes before exiting the game for good.

Achilles injuries, meanwhile, have been the bane for several high-profile players over the last few seasons. Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant just returned from the Achilles tear he suffered in 2019, while Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors is sitting out this campaign due to the same issue.

Here's hoping that Anthony Davis' Achilles strain won't keep him off the floor for a considerable amount of time.
