LeBron James has only ever known being the top dog. He was the generational superstar coming of age with the Cleveland Cavaliers and (for the most part) the only All-Star on those early Cavs teams.

Even in Miami, the Heat only really took off when Dwyane Wade told James to take over as the leading man on both sides of the floor.

It came as quite a shock to Anthony Davis, then, when James told him that the Lakers were going to make the former Pelicans star the focal point on the offensive end.

Davis sat down with Shams Charania of Stadium to discuss adjusting to life with the Lakers and playing alongside an all-time great like LeBron:

Davis has indeed been the leading man in Hollywood through the first 10 games of the season, though James is not far behind. Davis is averaging 26.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.9 blocks, while James has averages of 24.0 points, 11.0 assists and 8.2 rebounds.

The tandem has been unstoppable in the pick-and-roll, and their ability to get into the paint at will has freed up the perimeter.

In many ways, Los Angeles still have a lot of the same problems as last season. Aside from Green, they are struggling to shoot the ball well from beyond the arc. However, Davis has also helped revolutionize the Lakers' defense.

With The Brow lurking in the interior alongside Dwight Howard and both Green and Avery Bradley hounding ball handlers on the perimeter, the Lakers rank first in defensive rating, according to Basketball-Reference.com.

Once Davis fully embraces the lead role offensively, the Lakers are going to be tough to beat
