Los Angeles Lakers star big man Anthony Davis took to Instagram to react to the tragic death of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gigi.

Bryant, 41, was among the nine people traveling in his private helicopter over Calabasas when it crashed. Bryant and his daughter were on their way to a basketball tournament in Thousand Oaks:

The NBA continued its Sunday schedule as planned with teams honoring Kobe Bryant in a number of ways.

Davis and the Lakers are back in action on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers in what figures to be a very emotional night at Staples Center.

In 1,346 career games for the Lakers, Bryant posted averages of 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard was an 18-time All-Star, two-time scoring champion, 15-time All-NBA team member, two-time Finals MVP and five-time champion with the Lakers, cementing himself as one of the game’s all-time greats.

Bryant is the fourth-leading scoring in NBA history after LeBron James passed him on Saturday, the day before his untimely death. Kobe was an inspiration to LeBron, Anthony Davis and countless other players in the NBA.

The Lakers retired Bryant’s No. 8 and 24 jerseys last year. He will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when inductees are announced later this year, and he will always be No. 1 in the hearts of Lakers fans.
