The Los Angeles Lakers keep making moves during a wild NBA free agency. After bringing aboard Dwight Howard, Wayne Ellington, Trevor Ariza, and Kent Bazemore, the Lakers have now brought on Carmelo Anthony, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
This move had been in the works for quite some time, as LeBron James and Carmelo have been friends for years and now finally are linking up on the same team– after being a part of the same draft class.
The Lakers are adding veteran pieces and trying to heal the wound of losing Alex Caruso to the Chicago Bulls. They now have a ton of veterans on the roster, but the nucleus of Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Carmelo Anthony is a fun group to imagine on the floor.
So, Rob Pelinka and the Lakers front office have done a pretty good job thus far despite limited space, and they still have a decision to make regarding Talen Horton-Tucker, although it is expected that he is going to remain in the purple and gold.
Either way, this Lakers team will look vastly different than last season and should be among the favorites in the Western Conference, and potentially in the NBA.
