The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing for the upcoming season with a vastly different roster than they had a few months ago. They brought on board Carmelo Anthony, who finally gets to team up with LeBron James.

Carmelo spoke with Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports and gave a ton of insightful information. Among the meaningful revelations from Melo was a list of teams who had been pursuing Anthony before he decided to team up with LeBron, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook on the Lakers.

Carmelo Anthony mentioned that the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, and New York Knicks had interest, but mainly the new Lakers player was waiting on the Portland Trail Blazers to give him a buzz.

Instead, Carmelo joined the Lakers on a one-year deal, and the dream of suiting up with LeBron James has finally become a reality. After Anthony was out of the league for some time, he then got a shot with the Blazers and had a bit of a resurgence, leading him to another few years in the NBA.

Now, Carmelo Anthony definitely has a shot at an NBA title with the loaded roster the Lakers have, and the possibility of a Davis, Westbrook, James, Carmelo pairing is finally a reality.
