UFC fighter Colby Covington has once again slammed LeBron James. According to him, the Los Angeles Lakers star won't “last 10 seconds” against him in the UFC Octagon.

Covington made the bold statement on Twitter, all while plucking out a controversial rumor from James' past involving former NBA player Delonte West.

Colby Covington has been hurling choice words at LeBron James in the past few days or so. The UFC fighter first attacked the Lakers forward by calling him a “spineless coward” during his post-fight presser last Saturday.

It's unclear why Covington has his eyes locked on the LeBron, but what's crystal clear is that Colby is a strong supporter of President Donald Trump — an administration that James has been very critical about.  A few weeks ago, Trump said that he has lost the appetite to tune in to NBA games because of the regular protests. James fired back at Trump, noting that they won't miss him anyway.

Fans and NBA players have taken notice of this controversial statements from Covington. And as expected, players defended the Lakers' leader from Covington's antics.

Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets seemed confused about Covington's tirade, hinting that he's a nobody compared to James. Michael Carter-Williams, for his part, called out the double-standards in the treatment of the two athletes.

Meanwhile, Austin Rivers is puzzled why Covington took aim at James — someone who's not in his league.

Whether James fires back at Covington's latest tirade is a matter of wait-and-see, but the Lakers star has always taken pride in taking the high road.
