Los Angeles Lakers forward Jared Dudley took to Twitter his hopes to acquire the new Xbox Series X. The veteran's celebrity status quickly worked to his favor as a fan hooked him up with the new console.
Dudley seems to be aware of how crazy the demand is for the Xbox Series X, so he did the smart thing: go to Twitter and simply ask.
Ok who’s got the connect for the New Xbox coming out tomorrow?????

Just a few hours later, a Lakers fan offered Dudley the new Xbox with no scalping price charge.

Lo and behold, Dudley and the fan met in person not just for the new Xbox, but also for a little photo op.

From the looks of it, utilizing his celebrity status—which was boosted by the Lakers' championship win—was a smart tactic by Dudley. After all, while some gamers already have the new Xbox in their hands, some pre-orders will be delayed. Retail giant Amazon sent an e-mail to several of its customers announcing they will receive Xbox Series X units by December 31st or before.
Dudley better spend as much time as he can with his new Xbox. Besides, the NBA 2020-21 season will kick off on Dec. 22. That's just a 71-day offseason—the shortest break in the history of all the major sports leagues in the US. The 2020-21 campaign will have a total of 72 games. Other details such as the new salary cap, fans, and the health protocols are still being finalized.
